NB - In other words, to form the perfect, use the
correct tense of to have + past participle

The verbs to be and to have are unique:

Modals (verbs like may, can andmust) do not take s in the 3rd person present.

So, for example:

regular verbs

past participle = inf+ed

present participle & gerund = inf+ing

past participles of irregular verbs = things you have to learn by heart!
