Are we as big as we think???

by Pierre-Luc

A scientist named Jack is working in his laboratory. As he does every morning, he enters the little building with his name on top. He studies body bugs. This morning, he's looking at his skin and sees, as he does each day, that there's a lot of life there. He sees little baby bugs with their mothers. He also sees acarians with big legs. He really finds them disgusting. Not really disgusting, but different. That microscopic life really interests him.

He has a repetitive life: each day, he goes to work. Each night, he goes back to his house. He's married to a beautiful woman. He also has two children, Melissa and Michael. He lives in New York, also known as "The Big Apple".

Very close to Jack, there's another scientist. His name his Craig. He also studies body bugs, acrians and all that kind of stuff. He has three kids and a wife.

One day at work, he has the idea of looking at his skin. He sees the same things as on other skin. There is always a group of balls, turning very slowly around a big yellow ball.

He zooms a little bit more on a big blue ball.

More and more he zooms. Finally, he sees a small cube on which is written: "Jack's Biology Clinic". He sees little creatures going in and out of the little square in front of the cube. These creatures have two arms, two legs, two eyes and hair. The scientists have named them "humans".

What a primitive life form!!!

Some questions to ponder...

1. Is Jack bored with his repetitive life?
2. How old are his children? What is their favourite subject in school?
3. In which way is his wife beautiful? Is she also a good cook?
4. Do you suppose Craig finds his own wife beautiful?
5. What is beauty?
6. What makes for a good cook?
